Setup
- Turn on both foyer TV’s.
- Turn on the projector.
- Once you see the blue from the projector, turn on the PC.
- Open Propresenter.
- Add songs to the “Sunday Morning” playlist:
- In ProPresenter, click “Search” in the top left.
- Paste the CCLI number in the box that pops up. If you do not have a CCLI number, use the song title.
- If a song shows up while the Propresenter Icon (left icon under the search line in the popup) is blue, drag the song in to the playlist or click “add to playlist” and then select “Sunday Morning” and click ok.
- If no song shows up, you will need to import it:
- Click the CCLI icon (middle icon under the search line in the popup).
- Single click on the song that shows up then once the lyric preview is visible, click “Import”
- When the Import box appears set the options to:
- Slides delimited by: Paragraph Break
- 1 delimiter per slide
- Size 1920 x 1080
- Theme: HCC Custom -> Songs
- Library: Songs
- Playlist: Sunday Morning
- Click “Edit”.
- Reflow the song:
- With the cursor at the beginning of the first slide, click “Insert Slide Break”.
- Right click the second slide (which used to be first). Select “Group” -> whatever the first slide is called.
- Right click on the first slide. Select “Group” -> “Intro”
- Use the “Insert Slide Break” button at the bottom of the new window to split slides.
- Use the “Backspace” key wen the cursor is at the beginning of a slide to join two slides.
- Keep each slide to five or less lines.
- With the cursor at the end of the last slide, click “Insert Slide Break”.
- Change the group of the new last slide to “Blank”.
- If there is only one chorus / verse / etc but their group is “____ 1”, change the group to just “____”. Make sure you click the first slide of the group if there is more than one slide or you will split them in to two groups.
- Make sure “Display Copyright” is checked.
- Click “Import” at the top right of the Import window.
- Format Song Slides.
- Add / update backgrounds.
- Click “Media” in top right of ProPresenter to open the bin. Select either “Still Backgrounds” or “Motion BGs”.
- Drag the image / video from the bin to the Intro (first) slide of the song.
- Try finding a background that invokes a feeling or thought fitting to the song.
- Make sure the background is not too busy (blurring can help with this).
- Make sure the background does not have bright areas that make reading lyrics difficult.
- Click “Media” again to close the bin.
- Check “Looks”
- Select a slide in the song. Press “Ctrl+A” to select the whole song.
- Right click a slide with no look icon. Select “Add Action” -> “Audience Look” -> “Worship”.
- Right click a slide that has a look icon. Select “Edit Action” -> “Audience Look” -> “Worship”.
- Check the “Intro” (first) slide.
- If there is no “Clear All” or “Clear Announcements” icon – Right click the slide. Select “Add Action” -> “Clear” -> “Clear Announcements”.
- If there is no video input icon – Right click the slide. Select “Add Action” -> “Video Input” -> “Input 1: Camcorder”.
- Import Announcement Slides
- Click “File” -> “Import” -> “Powerpoint”
- Select the powerpoint file then click “ok”
- Make sure the “Powerpoint” library is selected then click ok.
- Click on the Powerpoint library and drag the announcements to the “Sunday Morning” playlist.
- Import Sermon slides.
- Open Windows File Explorer and click the quicksave link to the folder “Sermons”
- Delete all folders
- Back in ProPresenter, click “File” -> “Import” -> “Powerpoint”
- Select the powerpoint file then click “ok”
- Make sure the “Powerpoint” library is selected then click ok.
- Find the sermon in the Powerpoint library and right-click it.
- Click “export as images”
- Title: leave this as whatever it is
- File Location (…): By default it should be “…sermons”
- JPEG or PNG: Make sure JPEG is selected.
- Include Media Actions: Make sure this box is NOT checked.
- Click “Save”
- Once ProPresenter is done exporting the images, click on the “Sunday Morning” playlist.
- Click the “Sermon” item in the playlist.
- Right-click the first slide -> “Remove Actions” -> click the image (normally “01”)
- Click the second slide. -> hold “Shift” and click the last slide -> release the “Shift” key and press “Delete”. Confirm you want to delete the slides if it asks you.
- Scroll back up so you can see the sermon slide.
- Open the media bin using the button at the top right.
- Select the “Sermons” library on the left.
- Drag slide “01” from the media bin on to the sermon slide.
- Click the second slide in the media bin. -> hold “Shift” and click the last slide -> release the “Shift” key.
- Scroll back up to the top of the media bin and drag the first highlighted slide from the media bin, up to the right of the existing sermon slide.
- Ensure the slides are in the correct order. Use the numbers on the bottom-right of each slide. Drag the slides to the correct positions if an adjustment is needed.
- Close the media bin using the button at the top right.
- Double check everything.
- With the sound person, make sure any videos work correctly.
- Make sure the preview window (Right side upper half) is set to “Foyer TV’s”
- Click the first slide of the announcements slideshow. Run through the whole show till it starts to repeat.
- Click through every slide as if the service were happening (you might want to do it a bit faster though.. :P).
- Watch the preview window to make sure both outputs look good and have the proper formatting.
- Check that each song has an arrangement selected. In the playlist this will look like: “Song Name – [Arrangement]”.
- If a song does not have an arrangement:
- Click the three boxes in the song title bar.
- Click the drop down menu labelled “Master”
- Select the appropriate arrangement based on the worship leader or select “New Arrangement…” and enter the leader’s name then clicking on “OK”.
During Warm Up
- Arrange the items in the playlist in the correct order by dragging and dropping.
- As the band practices each song:
- Adjust the arrangement by dragging and dropping in the arrangement bar as needed.
- Check that the lyrics are correct.
- Reflow the song with more natural breaks if needed.
- If you are unsure about a song, clarify with the worship leader.
Setup Special Notes
Videos
- Create an empty slide and set the look and other settings as you would any other slide.
- Drag the video from the media bin in to the blank slide you just created.
- Videos need to be set as foreground for the sound to work properly.
- Right click the slide and select “Media Action Behaviour” -> “Foreground”.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure the “Audience” screen indicator at the top of Propresenter is green.
- Close and re-open Propresenter.
- Restart the computer.
- Turn the projector off and then back on.
- Ensure projector, pc monitor, and TV’s all show up in windows. If not, disconnect and reconnect the corresponding cable from the pc then close and re-open ProPresenter.
During The Service
- Click through the slides as the service progresses. Pay attention for any deviations to the plan and adjust as best you can.
- If you get lost / surprised by a change:
- clear the foreground (“slide”) and background (“media”) layers but leave the camera (“video input”) layer visible.
- If needed, set the look (glasses & mustache button in the top right) to “Sermon No Slides”.
